Four Grade 9 pupils arrested for exam leakage


FOUR Grade nine pupils from Kasusu Basic School in Petauke district of Eastern Province have been arrested for unauthorised possession of exam papers.

The pupils are Jimmy Mumba aged 20, Moses Mwansa aged 16, Sara Phiri aged 16 and Peter Daka aged 20.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo confirmed the arrest yesterday.

Ms. Katongo said the incident happened between October 4, 2016 and October 7, 2016.

The arrest came after police apprehended three teachers in the same area for missing examination papers.

It was reported that the examination papers were in the custody of the trio and when it was time for pupils to write examinations on Monday, 3rd October, 2016, it was discovered that some copies were missing.

The missing papers included; 75 copies of English examination, 75 copies of Integrated Science paper one, 25 copies of Business Studies, 25 copies of Mathematics paper two, 40 copies of Social Studies, 30 copies of Integrated Science paper one.
