THE Zambia Chamber of Mines’ (ZCM) ‘MiningforZambia.com’ website which was launched three months ago has attracted nearly 9,000 people, with articles being read more than 20, 000 times within the period. According to ZCM chief executive officer Talent Ng’andwe, the website, which was launched in June this year, was an educational tool created to enhance a deeper understanding of the industry. Mr Ng’andwe said that the chamber was encouraged by the number of visitors to the site even if it was still in its early stages. He noted that the high number of visitors to the site showed that there were many people who wanted to learn more about the mining industry, which he said was at the heart of the Zambian economy. Mr Ng’andwe also noted that the articles on the website had been republished in Zambian and international media. He disclosed that the articles had also received favourable comments from the general public, students, academics and business executives. Mr Ng’andwe expressed confidence that the portal provided everything one needed to know on the Zambian mining industry. “Our ‘MiningforZambia.com’ website which was launched three months ago has attracted nearly 9,000 people, with articles being read more than 20,000 times within this period.
