ZAMBIA’s CAF Champions League envoys Zesco United yesterday left for South Africa ahead of this Saturday’s semi-final second leg match against PSL giants Mamelodi Sundowns seeking to qualify to the final of the tournament.
A confident Zesco team left Ndola yesterday around 13:30 and arrived in South Africa looking forward to continuing rewriting its own history by qualifying to the finals of the continent’s most prestigious club competition ahead of the much-fancied Sundowns side.
The power-utility sponsored outfit looked more than ready to replicate the virtuoso performance they displayed at Levy Mwanawasa stadium especially in the second last week.
Coach George Lwandamina wanted to finish off the game with a good performance and was aiming for an all-attacking formation.
Zesco was boosted with the return of prolific midfield maestro Clatous Chama who sat out in the first leg due to suspension while the frontline will be looking to Jackson Mwanza who banged a brace last week together with Kenyan international Jesse Jackson Were who was versatile in the first game despite not inking his name on the score sheet.
The match will be played at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on September 24, at 19∶30 hours.
