FOREIGN Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba has told the Chinese Government that Zambia would be looking forward to partnerships to develop Kafue town in preparation for the hosting of the 2022 Africa Union (AU) Summit.
And Mr Kalaba has assured Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Mr Youming Yang that Government would always endeavour to partner with the Chinese Government in developing Zambia.
He said Government would be looking forward to partnering with the Chinese Government in order to develop Kafue town in preparations for the hosting of the 2022 Africa Union (AU) Summit.
Speaking when Mr Yang delivered his congratulatory message on his appointment as Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr Kalaba said the Government had prioritised five key areas of partnership with Beijing.
He said the key areas of partnership were infrastructure development, energy, agriculture, tourism and information technology.
Mr Kalaba said the Government was looking forward to close cooperation between the two countries in all areas of development.
He also said that the Government was confident that it would meet its expectations of the Beijing five priorities.
“I look forward to the future of Zambia and China with a lot of hope,” Mr Kalaba said.
He also told the Chinese ambassador that President Lungu was looking forward to make a state visit to China following his re-election for the next five years.
“We are keenly working on ensuring that our bilateral relations continues to blossom,” Mr Kalaba said.
