ZDA Plots Linkages Forum  for North-Western Province

ZAMBIA Development Agency (ZDA) in partnership with Ministry of Commerce Trade and Industry and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is scheduled to host a two days Business Linkages Forum in Solwezi in the last quarter of the year for the business community in the North-Western Province.

The main objective of the two days business forum is to facilitate the creation of business linkages between the large and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

ZDA public Relations manager disclosed in a statement that the forum was meant to create a platform for exchange of experiences, challenges and existing opportunities between the large companies and MSMEs.

According to Ms Chimanse, the business forum is expected to host over 250 delegates from the large enterprises, small enterprises, Government and government agencies.

She said that it was her hope that the agency would understand the challenges faced by large and small enterprises and devise interventions that could be employed to curb the trials through this forum.

Ms Chimanse said that a business clinic would be held on the second day of the forum where enterprises would be given an opportunity to register their businesses with the ZDA and other government agencies that would be present.

“ZDA and partners are scheduled to host a two days Business Linkages Forum in Solwezi in the last quarter of the year for the business community in the North-Western Province aimed at facilitating the creation of business linkages. The ZDA held a similar forum in Ndola, Copperbelt Province during the Zambia International Trade Fair this year, which was attended by over 300 delegates from the Government, government agencies, large enterprises, financial institutions and MSMEs from the Copperbelt province,” she said.

Ms Chimanse disclosed that a number of business prospects came to light such as the signing of Memoranda of Understanding and sealing of contracts between Large and small Enterprises after the forum in Ndola.

She said that ZDA would continue replicating the same fora in all the remaining provinces in the country so as to facilitate the creation of many business synergies between large and small enterprises.
