Govt invites SADC heads of state for inauguration

GOVERNMENT has extended invitations to the heads of state in the SADC region and international organizations to attend the inauguration of President-elect Edgar Lungu next Tuesday.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs permanent secretary Ambassador Chalwe Lombe explained that the invitation of SADC heads of state and international organizations was in accordance with established practices by the Government.

Mr Lombe explained in a statement issued by Foreign Affairs public relations officers Dorcas Chileshe that Government was in the process of establishing confirmations to the invitations and would advise on the status in due course.

Mr Lombe further said preparations for receiving of heads of state and dignitaries to attend the inauguration were on course.

The inauguration of President Lungu would take place next Tuesday September 13 at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
