NAMIBIAN President Hage Geingob and his Ethiopian counterpart Mulatu Teshome have congratulated President Edgar Lungu for his victory in the August 11 general election.
In his congratulatory message President Geingob stated that the government of the Republic of Namibia extended its felicitations to the president, the first family and the PF leadership.
President Geingob, who addressed President Lungu as his “dear brother,” recalled that during his recent visit to Zambia, he witnessed tremendous progress the country was undergoing and congratulated President Lungu for the development the country has experienced under his leadership. “It gives me great pleasure to write to Your Excellency, in order to congratulate you on behalf of the people and Government of the Republic of Namibia, for your victory in the recently concluded Presidential elections. May you continue to experience good health, wisdom and strength in leadership as you continue to steer the Republic of Zambia to greater prosperity,’’ President Geingob said.
And Ethiopian leader president Mulatu Teshome has also conveyed a congratulatory message to President Lungu.
President Teshome stated that it was his firm conviction that President Lungu’s re-election will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen the already existing friendly relations between Zambia and Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian leader expressed his best wishes, personal good health to President Lungu and prosperity for the Zambian people.
“On behalf of the people and Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and that of my own, l wish to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your re-election as the President of the Republic of Zambia,” President Teshome said.
