NKANA and Power Dynamos today clash in a game of supremacy in a Super Division rescheduled Week 27 tie at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
Coming from a 2-0 victory over Forest Rangers last weekend, Power Dynamos are favourites to close up the gap against their bitter rivals and town mates in the weekend’s top-billed match.
The two sides last met in May in a 1-all draw match and each will be aiming for victory and restore their supremacy over the other.
Nkana is second on the
table with 50 points – four points above Power – and five behind league leaders Zanaco while Power are third at 46.
In-form Kelvin Kampamba and Kennedy Mudenda are a threat to the Nkana side, coming from a brilliant performance against Forest Rangers.
But it will not be easy for Power Dynamos as Nkana top scorer Walter Bwalya and Ronald “Sate Sate” Kampamba have in the last two games caused terror.
Coach Aggrey Chiyangi will also look to Simon Bwalya and Freddy Tshimenga to register their names on the Nkana score sheet.
“This will be a tough game because both teams need the three points to move up the table. The players are ready and will definitely deliver a win,” Chiyangi said.
But Power coach Dan Kabwe says his team will not afford to lose at home.
“We are playing at home and will not lose. Nkana will give us a good run, but we will definitely outsmart them. The three points are important as we aim to close the gap,” he said.
Meanwhile, Napsa Stars managed to pull a late win at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola yesterday. Nchanga Rangers capitulated in the last minute when Enock Mwepu scored a re-bound in the 90th minute for Napsa.
