KITWE district commissioner Chanda Kabwe has commended the Zambia Police Service and other security wings for maintaining law and order during the
Mr Kabwe said the police and other security personnel were deployed in different parts of the city to insure that no unlawful incidents were recorded for the people to continue enjoying peace.
He said the professional work exhibited by the security personnel made it impossible for some sections of society who wanted to cause chaos by taking advantage of the election period to succeed.
He was delighted with the way the police and members of the community in various parts of Kitwe were working to bring the law breakers to book.
Mr Kabwe said the partnership between the police and the community was commendable
because the people knew the presence of undesirable elements in the communities they lived.
“During the election period some people wanted to take the law in their own hands but the Police were on high alert to control the situation and nothing negative has happened to the law abiding citizens of Kitwe”, said Mr Kabwe.
Mr Kabwe said the Government was concerned about the welfare of the residents of Kitwe hence the dispatching of Police officers in different locations of the city.
Mr Kabwe told the Daily Nation in Kitwe that peace was cardinal during this election period because once peace was disturbed it retarded development.
“All the enemies of peace who predicated confusions during this election period are ashamed because the Police have maintained peace at the highest order without any doubt,” said Mr
