Mufulira Wanderers and Kabwe Warriors will today renew rivalry in a Week 22 Super Division match that is expected to produce sparks.
With the match set for Shinde Stadium in Mufulira this afternoon, Kabwe Warriors will be looking to complete a double on a side they defeated 3-1 in the first leg at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe in April.
Kabwe Warriors is sixth on the MTN-FAZ table with 32 points while Mufulira Wanderers is on 12th position with 24.
But Mufulira Wanderers coach Silva Paulo has predicted a tough encounter against the Mohammed Fathy coached side.
“It will be a tough game for us but we are sure of victory. The boys need to score at least two goals in the first half to shut down Kabwe Warriors,” he said.
Fathy will however look to Josephat Kasusu and Jacob Phiri to put Kabwe Warriors in front.
In Lusaka, Sunset Stadium hosts a double header with the early kick-off between Green Buffaloes and Nchanga Rangers at 13:00 hours while leaders Zanaco will take on relegation threatened Lusaka Dynamos at 15:00 hours.
Smarting from a 2-1 defeat to Power Dynamos at Arthur Davies Stadium last Saturday, Zanaco will go into the game wounded and determined to increase the gap on the summit of the table.
Zanaco lead the table on 49 points, eight better than second placed Nkana who host Lusaka Tigers.
With Nkana tipped to carry three points in today’s game against Tigers, Zanaco will fight to maintain the eight point gap.
In other fixtures, Nakambala Leopards face low rated Mufulira Blackpool while Lumwana Radiants host Green Eagles in Solwezi.
The match between Zesco United and Forest Rangers has been rescheduled because the league champions were yesterday playing Al Ahly of Egypt in Cairo in a Confederation of African Football Champions’ League Group A match.
