Mwanakatwe attacker arrested

POLICE have arrested a businessman of Lusaka’s Bauleni compound David Longwani for allegedly threatening violence where he used a pistol against Mupanga Mwanakatwe, the  Zamtel chief executive officer on 1st August, 2016 between 12:30 and 13:00 hours.

Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the pistol has since been recovered and the suspect is detained in police custody awaiting court proceedings.

And the police have recovered a Toyota Allion that was used in the aggravated robbery on 2nd August 2016.

Mr Hamoonga said the vehicle was abandoned off Burma road near Interland filling station and upon searching the motor vehicle an AK 47 rifle without ammunition was recovered.

‘’This motor vehicle was stolen at gun point in Emmasdale area along Vubu road on 31st July, 2016 at about 23:00 hours’’, said Mr Hamoonga.

He said the police are still pursuing the criminals who are believed to be dangerous and are four in number; two of them were recently released from prison.
