Kasempa candidates pledge to work for the people

KASEMPA constituency aspiring Members of Parliament have pledged to fill the district with much needed development once elected into office.

Speaking during a public debate at the civic centre on Friday, the four aspirants also promised that the mantle was to be handed over to the right candidate in a peaceful and fair manner.

The candidates said that they were aware of the challenges the district was facing and what needed to be done to improve the living standards of the people in the area.

Kasempa constituency is contested by five candidates – Tobias Kafumukache (MMD); Brenda Tambatamba (UPND),  Dominic Kasosa (PF),Haggai Shitima (FDD) and Peter Masumba an Independent.

Meanwhile, a senior citizen in the district Mr Westone Mulayo has called on Kasempa residents to turn out in large numbers and vote in the August 11 general elections.

Mr. Mulayo expressed worry that during elections, the district was always hit by voter apathy which he said was not fair.
