UPND strips PF woman

SUSPECTED United Party for National Development (UPND) cadres attacked, assaulted and undressed a woman wearing Patriotic Front regalia.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga, who confirmed the incident, told journalists in Ndola that it happened in Kansenshi area.

Ms Katanga said that two vehicles were damaged during the same incident.

She said police have since apprehended suspects who were in police custody.

She refused to give details on the matter as investigations were still going on.

Ms. Katanga has urged Copperbelt residents to desist from violence as they would be denied the right to vote because they would be in custody.

She said police had recorded pockets of violence in Kitwe and Chililabombwe districts but did not give further details.

She also said that there was a mine accident in which a 35-year-old miner was killed.
