President Lungu lays foundation stone

 PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has laid a foundation stone symbolising the commencement of the construction of Muyombe First Level Hospital in Mafinga district of Muchinga province.

And President Edgar Lungu yesterday handed over an ambulance to Muyombe clinic in order to facilitate the movement of patients in the district.

Addressing a rally shortly after laying the foundation stone, President Lungu told the people that the contractor would soon move on site to commence the construction of the hospital. President Lungu said Government was determined to ensure that health service delivery was brought closer to the majority of Zambians especially in rural areas.

The construction of Muyombe first-level hospital was an addition to the other 9 clinics in the area as well as the construction of 7 more health post in the district which would cater for more than 40 thousand people in the area.

The Head of State said the PF government would continue walking the talk and not giving empty promises to the people.

And health minister Dr. Joseph Kasonde expressed happiness that President Lungu had delivered on the promises he made to the people of Muyombe.

Dr. Kasonde also disclosed that out of 7 health posts to be constructed in the area 4 were already on ground.

He said the Patriotic Front government remains committed to bringing the health care system closer to the people.

Meanwhile PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has WARNED people of Shiwang’andu constituency in Muchinga Province to be on a look out for politicians who are mocking the people in the province that despite voting for the Patriotic Front, the area lacks development and has been neglected.

Addressing a rally at Matumbo grounds, Michinga ward of Shiwang’andu constituency the president said he will ensure people of Matumbo receives the equal share of the national cake by completing all the developmental projects started and upgrade some roads in the district.

The president has pledged to take more development to the northern circuit as a reward to the people for being royal and supportive of the ruling.

He said the Patriotic Front government owe the people of Muchinga province and will ensure he delivers his campaign promises.

“There are politicians who are coming here to tell you the PF has failed, you voted for them but they have not brought development here! But let me assure you that this government cares for you and it will continue rolling out development in this area. Let me tell you people of Shiwang’andu that such leaders are mocking you, let me tell you we are bringing development here,” said president Lungu.

He said people should ignore such critics who can’t see anything positive the government has done since 2011.

And speaking earlier Patriotic Front deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri said some politicians criticized the PF for creating Muchinga as a province and accused government of diverting resource to enrich one province.
