Another UPND cadre with petrol bomb arrested

ABOUT ten suspected UNPD cadres were on Sunday arrested after they ran amok during one of their door to door campaigns and smashed cars and destroyed other properties.

The UPND cadres are said to have been on their campaign trail in Kanyama Township smashed five front screens and sliding glasses of five minibuses that were stationed at Mutandabantu bus station without any lawful justification.

One of the ten UPND cadres only known as Orian Shantobolo was found in possession of a catapult and a bottle containing sand and petrol which is what is called petrol bomb.

Police deputy spokesperson Rae Haamoonga confirmed the arrest of the ten UPND cadres in a statement yesterday and named some of the suspects as Chitabola Lipoba, 30 years, Chikumbi Lastone, 32, John Dausi, 26 and Namasiku Namangolaw 26.

Mr Haamoonga said Orian Shantobolo aged 30 would be charged with malicious damage to property and being found in possession of offensive weapons.
