MAGNIFICENT Kabwe Warriors ywesterday edged over Lusaka Dynamos 1-0 in a Week 19 MTN-FAZ match played at Godfrey Chitalu.
Marcel Kalonde’s header from the Jacob Phiri free kick in the seventh minute was enough to give the railway men the much needed three points.
Both sides were not far from chances in the opening exchanges with Warriors and Dynamos guilty of spraying passes wide of their intended man.
Claude Bwalya dribbled through the Dynamos defence but his close range shot went wide the net denying Warriors the second goal.
Dynamos improved their game 15 minutes before the break but continued to produce blank shots on target.
In the second half, Dynamos looked set for an equaliser but their goal poacher Conlyde Luchanga failed to convert the chances.
Warriors regained possession but Kalonde and Mwansa Nsofwa could not hit the net with a free kick sent narrowly wide and heading over respectively.
The Warrior defence packed at the back and ensured Dynamos did not upset the 1-0 result.
This victory pushed Warriors to 29 points but maintain sixth position, a point behind fifth placed Green Buffaloes.
Meanwhile, in another Week 19 fixture set for today, Nkwazi would take on Mufulira Wanderers while Power Dynamos hosts Nchanga Rangers and Forest Rangers clashes with Nakambala Leopards.
Struggling Mufulira Blackpool faces a tough game against Green Buffaloes while Green Eagles hosts Nkana.
