Local hip hop inspires upcoming artiste

The hip hop revolution in Zambia has continued to inspire young musicians and encouraged them to take up careers in music. This is true for Kitwes Bernard Puta aka Ben Jr who has developed a music following through his latest single ChitaSo after inspiration from the likes of Macky2 and Chef 187.

Born and bred on the Copperbelt, Ben Jr. who is also called the ‘Ghetto Bank Governor’ by his peers developed his interest in music while at Kitwe Boys. This followed the successful careers of the local hip hop frontrunners such as Macky2, Chef and SlapDee to mention only a few.

His first song was called ‘For Better for Worse’ which dominated some prominent Copperbelt Radio stations making Ben Jr’s presence on the music scene effectively registered. He further released more singles but it was ‘Spilled Milk’ in 2015 that attracted the attention of Kopala Talent Coach promoter Robby Jerahyo to consider the lad on one of his productions.

He released a single called ‘Tawanjebafyo’ under Jerahyo which further spread his fan base and increased desires to even work harder.

The lad is now inspired to conquer the hip hop music on a larger scale. His latest song ‘ChitaSo’ produced by JazzyBoy is definitely the right tool he has to achieve his dream and top the hip hop charts.
