GEOFREY Bwalya Mwamba has threatened that he would physically break the ribs of Local Government Minister Steven Kampyongo whom he has accused of frustrating the UPND rally that was reportedly a flop in Mpika.
But Mr Kampyongo said Zambians should start getting worried with the kind of leadership the country would have should the UPND form government after the August general elections.
Mr Kampyongo has however warned Mr Mwamba that he was not going to allow the UPND presidential running mate to threaten or abuse citizens with impunity because law and order had not been abandoned because of the coming general elections.
Mr Kampyongo said Mr Mwamba was a known violent leader and it was not surprising that he was threatening to fracture his ribs on account that the people in Mpika rejected the UPND.
Mr Mwamba was quoted as having said in Bemba: “Iwe ka Kampyongo, ndekufuna imbafu tawaka bwekelemo ku Lusakaakatuntulu,” while campaigning in Mpika.
Mr Kampyongo however said: “We must begin getting worried if this is the kind of leaders we are going to have. Mr Mwamba has always been a violent man and it is not surprising that he is threatening to frasctuure my ribs. Let him know that he has not forgotten me and I have not forgotten him. I am ready for and I will not allow him to continue attacking and assaulting innocent people.”
Mr Kampyongo vowed that he would soon be going to his constituency and would ensure that the UPND was completely destroyed by urging voters to realise that the UPND was a party of violent leaders.
