Police warn careless motorists

IT is sad many lives are being lost because of negligence by some motorist, especially the truck driver, says Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja.

He said this in a speech read for him by Deputy Inspector General  of police Malcolm Mulenga at the burial of late Assistant Suprietendant Sylvester Zulu, his wife Munide who was a Zambia Daily Mail staffer, their 12-year-old,  Inspector Sikota Situmbeko and two others at Lusaka’s Mutumbi Cemetery.

Mr Kanganja described the Police officers who died in the road in Kabwe as patriotic who coordinated with superiors and contributed to the growth of the Zambia police service.

He said the Zambia Police command it will not sit idle and watch law breakers scot free.

And Zambia Daily Mail Managing Editor Nerbart Mbewe described the death of Mrs Zulu as devastating and a great lose to the media fraternity.

Mr.Mbewe said Mrs Zulu will be greatly missed because of her hardworking and invaluable contributions to the Zambia Daily mail.
