GUINEA Bissau national team coach Baciro Cande has warned that his lads will not give Zambia dancing space to collect the important three points when the two sides clash in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match set for Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissua.
Cande said his boys were not under pressure but adequately prepared to face the 2012 AfCON Champions, Zambia.
He said the boys had been committed to training and attained 100 percent fitness level.
“The camping in Portugal was successful. The boys are in form with a 100 percent fitness level. I must affirm that Zambia will not be given space to manoeuvre and collect the three points. Our target is to open a four point gap against Zambia and that will be achieved on Saturday,” he said.
He said Bissau was considered an underdog in group E but has so far proved that they were determined to qualify for AfCON 2017. He said his boys managed to force a barren draw on Zambia’s soil last year and would finish up the job with a win.
“This is an important game for us A win will get Bissau closer to qualification. We will not allow Zambia to spoil our quest for qualification. The people of Guinea are expecting victory, and the team will deliver. The boys will put in their very best,” Cande said.
Cande said his team was injury free with all professional players which includes Toni Silva of Liverpool blending well with the local players.
Meanwhile Chipolopolo delegation leader Blackwell Siwale confirmed that TP Mazambe defenders Nathan Sinkala and Chongo Kabaso had joined the squad .
He said the duo that arrived on Wednesday night had their first training with the squad.
“I am happy that the two defenders are now in camp with the team. This will give coach George Lwandamina chance to make the final assessment of the players. It is indeed a morale boaster ahead of Saturday’s clash,” he said.
He said the Chipolopolo Boys had continued to respond well to training and were focused.
Zambia has to beat Guinea to revive hope of qualification to the Gabon 2017 AFCON finals.
The Chipolopolo are a point behind group E leaders Bissau, but tied on six points with Congo Brazzaville while Kenya has one point.
