WOUNDED Zanaco, still bitter after their ejection from the prestigious CAF Confederation tournament, today face a tough contest away at Shinde Stadium when they clash against ‘Mighty’ Mufulira Wanderers in a Week 8 Super Division match.
Despite the solace of a 4-0 win over Lusaka Dynamos on Wednesday at Sunset Stadium, Zanaco are determined to bury their CAF disappointment and close up the gap with the league toppers Nkana by collecting maximum points at Shinde Stadium.
The game is expected to produce sparks between the two veteran cup fighters – with Zanaco winning the title six times and Wanderers nine.
Having exited the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup race in embarrassing fashion, Numba Mumamba is determined to lead Zanaco to the glory of the 2016 Super League title.
“The boys played well in the rescheduled match on Wednesday and I am hoping they replicate the same form on Saturday. We need to win this game to close up the game. It will be a tough game but the boys can do it,” Mumamba said. Mumamba will look to Fashion Sakala, Davy Daka and Isaac Chansa who scored against Lusaka Dynamos to collect maximum points.
Zanaco is lying seventh on nine points on the log, seven behind leaders Nkana. But the bankers still have four games in hand.
