Mine job losses explained

MINERS should understand that job losses in the mining sector were as a result of the lower commodity prices and nothing to do with President Edgar Lungu, Patriotic Front Deputy Chairperson for Elections Kelvin Fube has urged.

He said government was taking care of the former miners by empowering them with land to resettle.

Mr. Fube said this when he graced the launch of the Chingola PF Miners Support Group in Chingola.

And PF Miners Support Group Chairman General Peter Sakala said miners and ex-miners would soon embark on a sensitisation campaign to educate Copperbelt residents on job losses in the mining sector.

Mr Sakala said there was too much misinformation which the opposition was using to gain mileage. Hence, the organisation’s move to correct the impression.

He pledged the organisation’s total support to President Lungu for his re-election bid. ZNBC
