TODAY’S TEXT MESSAGES

Well done President Lungu

Editor,

The assurance of protection to the foreign nationals by President Edgar C. Lungu is commendable. This is in the wake of the recent looting of shops in Lusaka of foreigners notably Rwandans.

The Head of State said that Zambia is not a criminal State and it’s our duty to protect foreign nationals. He further mentioned that those involved in looting will be brought to book.

EP, Lusaka.

Police and shishita

Editor,

We are happy with police patrols at night but the problem is that some people knock off from their work after 20:30 hour. Consequently, they reach home around 22:00 hours. What is surprisingly is that when you meet them and explain, they seem uncompromising.

Concerned Lusaka resident.

VJ’s utterances

Editor,

Vernon Mwaanga should not comment on electoral matters publically because his notoriety has erased all his contributions to freedom struggle and can cost Zambia’s peace.

MMM convention

Editor,

Felix Mutati is not after contesting the August 11 elections but creating an atmosphere for confusion. Your allegiance appears to be with those who have joined UPND. Don’t play with people’s mind. Everyone knows where you belong to.

Solar power agreements

Editor,

In February this year when President Edgar Lungu commissioned Itezhi-Itezhi hydro-power station, Hon Siliya promised us that in two weeks’ time, she was going to sign an MoU with solar power companies. This is April and nothing seems forthcoming. Kindly move in quickly because load shedding is killing us. How do we patrol in the dark?

Demise of Solly Pandor,unfortunate

Editor,

The demise of one of the longest serving Zambia National Soccer team manager Solly Pandor is a great loss to the nation and the football fraternity in particular. He contributed immensely towards the development of football in Zambia. He worked with many Zambian national soccer team coaches and FAZ respectively. MHSRIP.

Road blocks in Kabwe

Editor,

It is sad the way the traffic officers are behaving at road blocks here in Kabwe. We are being inconvenienced everyday more especially we who drive Toyota corollas. Once you reach a road block, all they think is that you are a taxi-driver. Some of us don’t have money to buy expensive cars. So, the traffic officers should be professional enough because not all cars are taxis.

Lifting of ban condemned

Editor,

Works and Supply Minister Simbao misfired over the lifting of the suspension of Wada Chobu and Mazhandu bus licences which was done in good faith by RTSA to bring sanity on the roads.

Concerned Zambian.
