POLICE have confirmed another gruesome murder in Mansa where a man was found dead with missing private parts.

Police spokesperson Charity Chanda in a statement said the body was discovered around 07:00hours yesterday with deep cuts on the head.

Ms Chanda said the body of the unidentified man aged between 30 and 35 years was found near the main market in town.

“The body had two deep cuts in the head and its private parts removed. Investigations into the matter have been instituted and we are appealing to members of the public in Mansa to remain calm as the Police investigate the matter in order to make sure that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to book,” she said.

Lusaka experienced riots and looting following a spate of suspected ritual killings where six people were murdered in similar circumstances with missing body parts including hearts, ears and private parts.

The police have since intensified patrols in Mansa district to prevent a repeat of what happened in Lusaka. She appealed to people with information leading to the apprehension of the perpetrators to report to the nearest police station.
