Namugala drags servant to court

Mafinga Member of Parliament (MP) Catherine Namungala has dragged her retailer supervisor to the Lusaka Magistrates Court for allegedly stealing assorted items from her residence.

Nevers Mwanza of house number 100/1 Kanyama Township was dragged to court after he was accused of stealing veld wire for fencing valued at K36, 000.

When the matter came up for allocation before Acting Chief Resident Magistrate Kenneth Mulife yesterday, Mwanza was not before court.

Mr Mulife, however, allocated the matter to Magistrate Alice Walusiku.

Mwanza is charged with one count of theft by servant.

Mwanza is alleged to have on December 12, 2015 being a person employed by Ms Namungala as a care-taker allegedly stolen veld wire for fencing valued at K36, 000 the property of the said employer.

Meanwhile, a Lusaka bus conductor has been dragged to court for threatening violence and wearing a Zambia Army uniform without authority.

Boyd Nyimba of Zani muone Township in Lusaka is charged with one count of unauthorized wearing of an official uniform.

It is alleged that Nyimba on March 28, 2016 was found wearing an official uniform namely the Zambia Army uniform without authority.

Nyimba is in count two facing a charge of threatening violence.

He is alleged to have on the same date, unlawful and wilfully threatened Allan Lukonde with injury to his person to which he did say, “I will stab you with a knife”.

He was equally not in court when the matter was called up for allocation before Acting Chief Resident, Kenneth Mulife.
