Manager in court over bigamy

A Game Stores manager has been dragged to the Lusaka Magistrates Court for bigamy after he was accused of having married to two women at the same time contrary to the laws of Zambia.

Nelius Kateule ,35, of Pemba Drive In Chelston, Lusaka,was supposed to appear in court  after he was arrested for the subject offence.

Kateule, who was arrested without a warrant, could not take plea as he was reported to be unwell.

When the matter was called before Chief Resident Magistrate Kenneth Mulife, a relative to Kautele informed the court that he was unable to appear in court as he was reported to be unwell.

Mr Mulife allocated the matter before Magistrate Humprey Chitalu. Kateule is facing one count of bigamy contrary to section 166 of the Penal Code CAP 87 of the laws of Zambia.

He is on November 21, last year being a husband who is lawfully married to Florence Sandu Kateule allegedly did go through a ceremony of marriage during the life of his wife.

He is expected to appear in court soon.
