Congolese nabbed over Kasumbalesa robbery

POLICE have arrested a 23 year-old Congolese national in connection with last week’s robbery at Kasumbalesa border post in which several police officers were injured and four AK 47 rifles stolen.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga confirmed the arrest of the Congolese national identified as Kapapa Sadik Pascal of Kasumbalesa in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

She said in an interview in Kitwe that police had continued to carry out investigations regarding last week’s aggravated robbery at Kasumbalesa border post and was hopeful that more culprits would be brought to book.

“In our investigations to bring culprits of the Kasumbalesa border post aggravated robbery to book, we have arrested a Congolese national in connection with the same robbery. The Congolese national has been identified as Kapapa Sadik Pascal of Kasumbalesa in the DRC,” Ms Katanga said.
