PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Chongwe youth chairman Harry Kunda has been suspended indefinitely from his position and charged with gross indiscipline following a story attributed to him that the ruling party in Chongwe is weak.
Mr Kunda said that the PF was weak without his preferred candidate Geoffrey Chuumbwe.
According to a letter of suspension signed by PF Chongwe district chairman Jonas Luputa, Mr Kunda’s behaviour revealed confidential party internal adoption process without authority.
Mr Kunda is facing a charge gross indiscipline, insubordination, lack of respect for the party, bringing the name of the Head of State and party President, and the party in disrepute. He would not be allowed to represent the party in any capacity until the party decided to lift his suspension.
And the PF in Chongwe said it was stronger than ever before due to numerous developmental projects that had been undertaken by the Government under the leadership of President Lungu.
In a statement signed by Mr Luputa and PF district secretary Nebert Shawa, the party also dismissed with contempt claims that it had a preferred candidate for the constituency.
The party challenged Mr Kunda to produce evidence that President Lungu had a preferred candidate.
“Firstly, our question to Mr Kunda and his agent is how did the matter concerning the party’s internal adoption process find itself in the Post newspaper instead of following the due process of the party required for whoever has a grievance?” Mr Luputa asked
The party warned Mr Kunda not to drag the name of President Lungu into disrepute in the quest to please his masters, the cartel.
