AIRTEL Networks Zambia has won the overall award in the ICT sector as well as three others during the Zambia Federation of Employers’ 50th annual general meeting in Livingstone.
Airtel managing director Peter Correia said Airtel was proud to receive the awards and would continue to pursue the policies that changed people’s lives in one way or another.
“We are humbled to be recognized by the mother body of employers in the country and I believe these awards are a true testimony of what we stand for as an organisation,” Mr. Correia said.
“We are passionate about all we do, not just for our customers but for employees as well and this is why you see that we have a robust HIV/AIDS policy which is meant to educate our staff so they too can pass on the information to their friends and family.”
The company scooped the overall prize for four of its policies – corporate social responsibility, HIV/AIDS, internship and environmental management, when the federation was celebrating its 50th year of existence with Minister of Labour Fackson Shamenda as guest of honour.
