THE Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) should immediately announce the date for the Kuomboka ceremony of the Lozi people since they are only three Saturdays in April on which to hold the ceremony, says a Lozi Loyalist Charles Ngalama.
“Only three Saturdays are remaining in April in which the Kuomboka ceremony of the Lozi people can take place, failure to which the ceremony will be affected without the bright moon,” he said.
Mr Ngalama said there were no excuses to prevent the ceremony from being held and the BRE Kuta was expected to announce the date in the course of this week to give ample time to people who would want to attend the ceremony.
He said it would not be a good idea not to have the ceremony this year because there was plenty of water and besides all the preparations were on course.
“People are worried here because they are wondering why the BRE is delaying to announce the date for the Kuomboka. It was agreed that the dates should be announced on time to give chance to travellers, and any delays will affect preparations for the ceremony,” Mr Ngalama said.
But a BRE official who did not want to be named said some of the Indunas were out of the Kuta and could only comment after they had tabled the matter.
