GUY Scott almost plunged the country into turmoil during the transition period following the death of Michael Sata when he plotted to launder the presidency of the country to a cartel that colonized late president Sata, Wright Musoma has charged.
And Patriotic Front (PF) secretary general Davis Chama said it was not strange for Dr Scott to continue demonizing President Lungu because the PF Lusaka Central member of Parliament had never accepted that Zambians had defeated his scheme of attempting to auction the ruling party to his friends.
Mr Musoma, who is Zambia Republican Party (ZRP) president, has advised Dr Scott to keep away from commenting on the political affairs of the country because the former vice-president along with his cartel friends staged a coup de tat against President Edgar Lungu when he was acting president at the time president Sata was dying.
Mr Musoma said Dr Scott should be the last person to talk about violence because Zambia was at the verge of degenerating into bloodshed when he (Dr Scott) along with a gang of known “political hyenas” conspired to illegally take over the leadership of the Patriotic Front (PF) and later that of the country.
He said in an interview yesterday that it was unbelievable that Dr Scott could still have the audacity of demonizing President Lungu who had earnestly forgiven him for his political transgressions against Zambians when he acted as president.
Mr Musoma said Dr Scott was annoying Zambians who voted for President Lungu and who rescued the country from the jaws of the cartel that was almost taking over the governance of the country.
He said had it not been for God’s grace and intervention, Zambia would have been in the hands of the cartel by now and would have been balkanised because the members of the cartel were a ruthless gang of tyrants that had managed to override strategic Government institutions and State security installations.
“Dr Scott is taking the humility of Zambians for granted. This is the man who almost laundered the presidency of the country to a cartel by staging a coup against President Lungu soon after the death of president Sata. President Lungu was acting president at the time and Dr Scott and his gang of ruthless dictators who tyrannized the Patriotic Front (PF) and a number of strategic Government institutions and State security installations.
“Had it not been for the grace and intervention of God, Zambia would have been in the hands of the cartel and we thank President Lungu for risking his life to save Zambia from the jaws of the cartel,” Mr Musoma said.
Mr Musoma said Dr Scott was nothing but a politically disgraced man who he said was currently representing the interests of the group that had launched a sustained and fierce fight against President Lungu.
He said President Lungu was elected by the majority of Zambians and that Dr Scott who fought against the election of the Head of State should check his behavior because Zambians would not allow him to continue casting aspersions on the presidency.
He said Zambians had not forgotten the role Dr Scott played in the scheme of preventing President Lungu from succeeding late president Sata and should therefore be careful with what he was saying about the Head of State.
And Mr Chama said Dr Scott had been provoking the leadership of the PF so that he could be expelled from the party but that President Lungu as a forgiving leader had tolerated the former vice-president over his tantrums.
Mr Chama said Dr Scott met President Lungu at State House last year at which the former vice-president had pledged his support and loyalty.
