THE Patriotic Front in Chilanga district is not shaken by MMD Chilanga Member of Parliament Keith Mukata’s decision to join the United Party for National Development instead of the ruling party because he is a finished politician, says PF district chairperson Simon Nsunge.
Mr. Mukata, who was also Justice deputy minister, resigned from Government this week to join the opposition UPND.
But Mr. Nsunge charged that the ruling party in Chilanga were happy over his decision, as he was a political liability to PF.
He described Mr. Mukata as an arrogant leader who worked to divide the Chilanga District Council and robbed the people of Chilanga the much needed development.
“Keith Mukata is not a factor and his departure to UPND is good riddance and as PF we can certainly say with 100% confidence that come August 11, 2016, we are winning elections in Chilanga,” he said. Mr Nsunge stated that Mr. Mukata antagonised civil servants and the council just to gain political mileage, adding that this had rendered him unpopular even among civil servants and other stakeholders in the district.
“He is a very retrogressive leader with a notion that he knows more than everyone concerning every issue,” he said.
He said the people of Chilanga needed a leader with a servant hood mentality and not the likes of Mr. Mukata who allegedly sought political office for personal gain.
He said Mr. Mukata should consider himself history as the PF in Chilanga was geared to scoop the seat.
