ZAMBIA’S High commissioner to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba has with immediate withdrawn his participation in active politics following President Edgar Lungu’s directive that all civil servants who wanted to be adopted ahead of the August general election must resign.
In a letter dated March 15, 2016 addressed to the Secretary General of the Patriotic Front Davis Chama, Mwamba has withdrawn with immediate effect.
This has come barely 24 hours when President Lungu advised all civil servants aspiring for political office to choose between working as a civil servant or politics.
President Lungu further warned that should those aspiring for political offices not choose him (Lungu) would not hesitate to dismiss them from civil service.
But Mr Mwamba yesterday, heeded President Lungu as he chose his diplomatic job in South Africa.
