GBM sees UPND victory


UPND vice-president for administration Godfrey Bwalya Mwamba says Zambians already know what they want, and it is Hakainde Hichilenma and the UPND in Government come August 11, 2016.

Mr Bwalya said the people of Zambia have decided and were set on changing Government in Mr Hichilema as their alternative leader.

He said this when he addressed a crowd of sympathisers that gathered outside the Lusaka Magistrate Courts Complex after his appeared in court on charges of illegal drilling.

“The Zambian people have already decided that its HH and the UPND in Government.

“Me, my wife and my children and all the Zambian people have resolved to rally behind the UPND and come 11 August 2916, it will be HH and the UPND to State House,” he said.

The UPND held a mini rally outside the Court boundaries right after Mr Mwamba appeared before Magistrate Mwaka Mikalile.

Earlier, Mr Mwamba appeared in court together with 19 cadres who were arrested two weeks ago on charges of unlawful drilling contrary to the laws of Zambia.

Mr Mwamba appeared before at the Lusaka Magistrate Courts where he applied to be joined to the matter involving 19 suspected UPND cadres charged with unlawful drilling.

Without any objections from the state, Magistrate Mikalile joined the UPND vice-president to the charges of unlawful drilling against the 19  UPND suspects who together pleaded not guilty to two counts of the charges of unlawful drilling.

According to the particulars of the offence in the first count, Mr Mwamba jointly and whilst acting together with persons unknown, without permission of the President did train or drill Sam Tembo and 18 others to the use of arms or the practice of military exercises, movements or evolutions contrary to section 66(1)(a) of the Penal Code Chapter 87  of the laws of Zambia.

In the second count, Sam Tembo and 18 others jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown did assemble without the permission of the President to be trained or drilled to the use of arms or the practice of military exercise, movements or evolutions contraction 66 (2) of the Penal Coe Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

All the 19 suspects and Mr Mwamba were allowed out on bail pending their hearing.

The matter has since been adjourned to March 24, 2016 and April 11, 2016 for mention and 3rd May 2016 for possible commencement of trial.

And Mr Hichilema told the UPND members to be vigilant and find out if there were any of  their colleagues who had been arrested and detained so that the party could facilitate their release.
