Cage unruly PF cadres

Editor,

The ruling Patriotic Front is a good party which deserves support from all well-meaning Zambians. However, the biggest problem is that this party’s cadres are a nuisance especially at City market. These cadres treat us like animals. Please Madam Mumbi Phiri as the deputy secretary general look into to this matter before the party collapses.

Zingalume in water blues

Editor,

The Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company (LWSC) should immediately address the water shortage in Zingalume compound. It’s very unfair and tantamount to theft for the company to be collecting money from poor people but fail to provide services. Load-shedding cannot be an excuse. I also appeal to the minister responsible to investigate this daylight robbery by LWSC.

Is free education real in Zambia?

Editor,

I need clarity from Government. At what point did the new Constitution take effect? If it is the same day HE accented to it at the National Heroes Stadium, why did the Ministry of General Education decide to work against it by allowing schools to charge pupils the old fees when the Constitution is clear in Art 61, section 5, sub sec (b) that it is  free education from primary to secondary?

Zambian should not be turned into a weed nation

Editor,

Green Party president Peter Sinkamba says marijuana can improve our economy. The reason Mr. Sinkamba thinks marijuana can improve our economy is by turning it into legal business. Things that are illegal are expensive but if it were to be made legal it would go cheap since everyone will have it for sale. We will end up with more sellers, less buyers. Check how the business is for second hand clothes. When we had few sellers, it was good but now eight out of 10 are doing it and that has made a huge reduction in sales. Even the beer business has been invaded. Six out of 10 people own a bar. A Christian Zambia shall not be changed into a weed nation. Never!

Editor,

Despite loud cries by people of Buchi township in Kitwe to Nkana  water company, nothing has been done to unblock sewer lines which are offloading human waste all  over  the township. Should we appeal to President Edgar Lungu to intervene?

Plan war against cholera well ahead

Editor,

The outbreak of cholera in some places in Lusaka is a source of concern. The fight against this epidemic should start during dry season by constructing modern markets and creating conducive places for rubbish dumping. I also blame some people who are too careless with litter. They always blame Government when they are the same ones creating dirty environments in the compounds. There is also need for mindset change.
