THE resignation of Northern Province Democratic Front (DF) chairman Chomba Chipili shows that those who had ditched the PF have now realised that there is nothing Miles Sampa has to offer them, PF provincial deputy elections officer Chibwaya Muma has charged.
On Tuesday, Mr. Chipili tendered his resignation from his position as interim chairperson saying he wanted more time to concentrate on his business.
Mr. Muma said the PF in Northern Province had been vindicated for its statement at the inception of Mr. Sampa’s party that it was an exercise in futility which was bound to crumble as those lured to ditch the ruling party would soon discover that their political future outside PF was bleak.
He said Mr. Chipili’s resignation was a wake-up call for Mr. Sampa to realise that he was treading on path of political oblivion adding that the 2016 general elections on which he was flexing his muscle would prove to be a litmus test that would expose him as a politician without any strength.
Mr Muma said politics was a serious business which needed political integrity and that those who were forming political parties out of frustrations were bound to fail because their motives were to fix their perceived opponents and not to offer a service to the people of Zambia to whom they owed their duty and loyalty.
He said Mr. Sampa was overrating himself by insinuating that the PF was panicking because of his presence as an opposition political party.
“They have ditched him. This goes to show that what he promised them is not what is obtaining on the ground and so, they feel let down. This is why they are leaving within a short period of time and this should send a warning to Mr. Sampa that he has no effect whatever on the PF,” Mr. Muma said.
