MMD national secretary Mwansa Mbulakulima is seriously conflicted and must resign from his position instead of mixing his personal interest and that of the party says MMD spokesperson Reverend Rueben Sambo.
He said in an interview yesterday that Mr Mbulakulima was conflicted to discuss his personal interest over party decision.
Reverend Sambo was reacting Mr Mbulakulima’s decision to write to the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) denying that he instructed Messrs Ellis & Co. and Messrs J&M advocates to act on behalf of the party in a case in which Lunte Member of Parliament Felix Mutati and two others are asking the former ruling party to hold a convention.
Mr Mbulakulima has also written to LAZ to take action against two law firms as they acted without his consent,
“Personal feelings have no place in our party and are not helping matters but the feelings that represent everybody as the essence of being together.
“Mr Mbulakulima is troubled about something but I am not aware of what the issue is. It is for this reason that a NEC meeting will soon be convened to hear him out,” he said.
Rev Sambo said that Mr Mbulakulima is a senior member of the party but that if he had personal interest then he should step aside so that a neutral person occupied his position.
He said that Mr Mbulakulima’s statements to the media did not conform to the party’s views and that it was not helping matters.
Rev. Sambo said Mr Mbulakulima should declare interest if he had personal feelings as they did not represent the feelings of everybody in the party.
He said the MMD took a decision to expel Mr Mutati in the best interest of the party.
