The annual all women entertainment music concert ‘Divas Nite’ this year will be held at the Government Complex in Lusaka on Tuesday as a part of the International Women’s Day Celebrations.
Organiser and Zambian singer Sista D has already announced a number of fellow female artistes to join her on this important occasion that seeks to celebrate women with a full package of entertainment.
Interestingly on those announced to perform is newcomer Wezi who released her debut album recently at colorful event at the Alliance Francaise in Lusaka. Wezi is making her first appearance at this prestigious event which is considered the biggest female annual concert. Others listed to perform are Viola, Alice Chuma, Sista D herself and Kachanana. There are big and regular names missing on the list like Mampi, Angela Nyirenda, Maureen Lilanda and Jane Orsbone to mention only a few but one hopes all these artistes will find time to grace the occasion. The event every year features different aspects of art promoted by female artistes where music dominates the entertainment. This year, a number of Zambian women have been encouraged to showcase different talents and projects they are involved in as a way of commemorating their day.
The Diva’s Nite will therefore give the artistic value of Women’s Day and to be part of it, guests and patrons will be required to pay K100 entry fee at the show set to start at 19:30 hours.
