The Patriotic Front (PF) will lose this year’s general elections unless they weed out comprised civil servants who are leaking Government classified documents, National Revolution Party (NRP) president Cozmo Mumba has said.
He said investigative wings should take keen interest in the public service identify workers who were actively involved in partisans politic with a view of frustrating Government’s efforts
Dr. Mumba charged that there were some individuals in the public service who were working in collaboration with the opposition and leaking state documents to unseat the Patriotic Front (PF).
He said such activities were likely to cause havoc in the August 11 elections, hence calling on the security wings to investigate and suspend all public workers engaging in partisan politics till the elections were over.
“I have intelligence information that there are people in Government institutions that are working against the PF and are trying to frustrate Government’s efforts.
“As far as I know, public workers are not supposed to engage in partisan politics, so the security wings should investigate this issue and suspend the culprits that may want to disturb the elections,” he said.
Dr. Mumba said if during the first President Kenneth Kaunda’s regime, the security wings were able to trace public workers frustrating government then, nothing could stop the current intelligence wing from doing the same.
“The security wings should be everywhere in government institutions, it is high time that people in the public service do the right thing. These are the same people who are leaking state documents, which are supposed to be confidential,” he said.
