KITWE Principal Resident Magistrate Ikechukwu Iduma has ordered that suspended Patriotic Front (PF) Ndeke ward councilor Evans Nsokolo be remanded at Kamfinsa State Prison pending hearing of the matter on whether to revoke his bond or not.
Nsokolo is facing three counts of obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Magistrate Iduma had earlier, this week on Tuesday issued a bench warrant against Nsokolo for failing to appear in court for the second time for allegedly being sick.
In the first count, it is alleged that Nsokolo on September 13, 2015 obtained K 21,000 from Eunice Mwanamwamba with intend to defraud by falsely pretending to have plots for sale when in-fact he had no plot for sale.
In the second count, Nsokolo on September 13, 2015 with intend to defraud did obtain K18,500 cash from Carol Mutafela pretending to have a plot when in fact not .
In count three Nsokolo, on August 16, 2012 in Kitwe fraudulent tricked and obtained K13,000 from Paul Kaoma.
When the matter came up for trial, Magistrate Iduma asked Nsokolo why he absconded twice from court proceedings on allegation that he was sick.
“Why has it been difficult for you to come for court proceedings,” Magistrate Iduma asked Nsokolo.
In response, Nsokolo said he was unwell that he had even sent documents to court although they were doubted.
And Magistrate Iduma told Nsokolo that he was going to be remanded at Kamfinsa State Prison and come back on March ,7 for the court to determine whether his bond could be revoked or not.
