ZESCO has embarked on a “customer day” campaign in Lusaka aimed at interacting with its customers and also to sensitize them on its activities.
According to ZESCO spokesperson Henry Kapata who disclosed this to Daily Nation, the campaign which commenced yesterday would be conducted in all the shopping malls in the city.
Mr Kapata said the campaign was one of the power utility’s platforms of interacting with customers and discuss issues affecting them.
“We have what we are calling customer day campaign; is to sensitize our customers on how we operate and also allow those who have concerns with Zesco to visit our stand and raise those concerns.
“Yesterday we were at Makeni Mall and we catered for people around that area. We had customers from Chawama, John Laing, Kanyama and Makeni. Today we will be at Levy Junction and from there we will proceed to other shopping malls in the city,” he said.
Mr. Kapata urged residents to take advantage of the platform and ensure that they made their concerns known.
He reiterated that this was the only way that the power utility would be able to address issues affecting its customers.
“Our customers should take advantage of this so that we can mingle with them and be able to address their concerns. There will be a lot of things that will be explained and we believe that this is one of the best ways to reach out to our customers,” he said.
Mr. Kapata said the campaign would spread to other parts of the country after Lusaka had been covered.
“We want this to happen in all parts of the country. As soon as we are done with Lusaka we intend to move to others parts. We want all our customers to have this opportunity,” Mr. Kapata said.
