A SCAM in which Presidential Empowerment Fund application funds are being photocopied and sold when they are free has been uncovered, coordinator Chanda Kabwe has revealed.
He warned the unscrupulous people selling the presidential empowerment fund forms to stop it or face the wrath of the law.
Mr Kabwe said the forms were not for sale and should be accessed without charge.
‘’ Let me take this opportunity to say that these forms are not for sale, no one is supposed to pay anything, it’s free of charge, I have received some complaints that people are being charged K20 or K50 for the marketeers to access these forms,” he said.
Mr Kabwe who is also Kitwe district commissioner said anyone charging marketeers to access the forms was stealing from them.
He urged all citizens to report any person who was involved in the act to the police to ensure that they were visited by the law.
“If anyone is charging the marketeers, then they are stealing. The victims should report those people to the nearest police station, people want to start making money out of them when those are free forms,” Mr Kabwe said.
He said committees had been put in place to manage the disbursement of the fund but other people had started to take advantage of the marketeers.
“We have some committees, in almost all the markets but you know some people are photocopying these forms and charging people, you know how scrupulous people behave, to every system there is a weakness but people must know that there is no form of contribution,” Mr Kabwe said.
