OPPOSITION leaders have no solution to the countrys problem, but their interest is to form government to be in the books of history, Patriotic Front (PF) Kamfinsa Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Chishimba has said.

Mr Chishimba said Zambians should not be excited about the campaign promises of some opposition political parties because such promises were coming from desperate politicians who were capable of telling any type of lie to win the support of the people.

He said in an interview in Kitwe yesterday that, instead of listening to desperate, hard hearted and bitter politicians who were being driven by hatred, Zambians should support the government of President Edgar Lungu who has so far shown bold and courageous leadership during difficult times.

“If we are to face the reality, we cannot blame President Lungu for whatever is happening in the country because the things we are going through are beyond President Lungu.

If we talk about the load-shedding and low copper prices at the London Metal Exchange, there are beyond President Lungu and so we can’t blame him. “So even if you decide to make change and bring another person, things will not change. This is why am telling you that these opposition leaders have got no solution to the country’s problem, but just want to be in the books of history that they once ruled Zambia. This is why they are so desperate that they are telling all sorts of lies in their campaigns,” Mr Chishimba said.

He said despite a difficult situation, President Lungu was trying his best to stabilize the country’s economy and Zambians should not make the mistake of voting for political parties which would make them regret their decisions.

Mr Chishima said so far President Lungu had exhibited a bold and courageous leadership by signing a new republican constitution with controversial clauses such as the 50 percent plus one clause, the running mate and the Grade 12 School certificate as a minimum qualification for those wishing to contest to be a councillor, MP or republican President.

“President Lungu has been coming out bold, courageous and firm on important national issues and if we give him another term on August 11, we will see that he is a disciplinarian, a courageous and bold leader who will not entertain nonsense,” he said.

And Mr Chishimba has said he was impressed that during his term as MP, the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) had been used to construct clinics, police posts and the most notable of the project was the Ndeke Village Mini hospital.
