FORUM for Democracy and Development (FDD) aspiring candidate for Nkana constituency Ernest Mulebi has said he will deliver the constituency to FDD in the August 11 general elections because he has been on the ground from 2011 when PF formed government.
Mr Mulebi said the people of Nkana constituency, especially in Miseshi Mindolo and Mugala areas were solidly behind him because he had been working with them in various areas.
He said in an interview after meeting the people in Miseshi Mindolo that the electorate in the area were like ‘orphans’ because their member of Parliament, Luxon Kazabu, was allegedly always absent from the constituency.
“Whoever candidate the PF, the UPND or any other political party will adopt in Nkana constituency, i will emerge victorious because the people in the area are solidly behind me. I can tell you that I will deliver Nkana to FDD in the August 11 elections.
“The people in the area feel like orphans because the area MP is always absent. So all this time the area MP has been absent, i have been working with them. So because am with them when their MP is not around, they think am a caring parent who should be their MP in the August 11 elections,” Mr Mulebi said. Mr Mulebi has been the only FDD member who has shown interest in contesting the Nkana constituency.
