A LUSAKA business woman, accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, has denied the charge in the Lusaka Magistrates Court.

Margaret Banda, 48, of house no. 53/01 Chunga,  told Magistrate Alice Walusiku that she understood the charge but denied committing the offence.

She told the court that she did not beat up Rachel Chileshe, thereby causing her actual bodily harm.

Chileshe is facing one count of assault contrary to the laws of Zambia.

She is alleged to have on January 5 this year assaulted Chileshe, thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.

The matter comes up on March 10 for commencement of trial

In another court, two men of Lusaka appeared on a charge of threatening violence.

Peter Chimbala, 31, businessman, and Mtendele Mwanza, 20, a car washer, are  on November 11 last year jointly and while acting together with others unknown allegedly threatened Mwelwa Chitambala saying: “We will kill you” while holding a screw driver and machete.

However they could not take plea due to the absence of the trial court but are expected to appear in court soon.
