Power Dynamos vice chairman George Lunguhas endorsed Chingola businessman Richard Kazala as vice President of FAZ.
Speaking at a FAZ elections campaign meeting for Copperbelt clubs held at Kitwe’s Moba Hotel Lungu praised Kazala for his trustworthiness and accountability traits.
“Late President Mwanawasa loved Kazala because he was the only accountable minister. He’s the only one who retired money after a trip,” he said.
He asked Kazala to do the same when he becomes FAZ vice President. Lungu also acknowledged the presence of Lenny Nkhuwa and Blackwell Siwale who are aspiring FAZ committee members.
He promised them votes too.
Speaking earlier, Kazala unveiled a four-year plan in which he envisaged Zambia qualifying for the 2018 World Cup so that the financial benefits can accrue to all Clubs, relinquishing, decentralization of division 2 and 3 clubs to unburden FAZ, development of rural football, ensure accountability and transparency.
“Iam not going into FAZ to get business but to protect FAZ funds and improve service delivery,” he said.
He endorsed the re election of FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya. Power also endorsed the re election of Kalusha but demanded that the president and his new executive committee reshaped the secretariat and effected changes to change the management of football.
Lenny Nkhuwa asked the councilors to vote for her based on her achievements as head of Women football, passion for football and loyalty.
“I want to promote football synergies between rural and urban clubs, be a voice for councilors at football house, provide selfless leadership because this election is about the ‘aspirations of the clubs’, develop football together bound by one destiny, to serve with love, duty and patriotism,” enthused Siwale in his campaign speech.
The meeting was attended by 48 Copperbelt clubs, one from Kabwe and Lusaka respectively.
