Mbesuma top at halfway mark

Chipolopolo striker Collins Mbesuma remains top of the goal scoring charts at the halfway mark of the Absa Premiership season.

‘Ntofontofo’, who won the top scorer award in 2004/05, has been in fine form for Mpumalanga Black Aces, netting 11 times.

The burly goal poacher’s five better off than three other players on six – Andrea Fileccia, Daine Klate and Thobani Mncwango, who rushed into second place after netting four against SuperSport United.

Fileccia is unlikely to add to his tally though, having suffered a serious knee injury against Bloemfontein Celtic this past weekend.

One goal further back on five is Charlton Mashumba, who has netted half of Jomo Cosmos’ 10 goals this season, George Lebese, Jeremy Brockie and the Ajax Cape Town duo of Nathan Paulse and Prince Nxumalo.

Moeketsi Sekola finished top of the PSL scoring charts in 2014/15 with 14 goals.
