THE Patriotic Front youth wing on the Copperbelt wants its party secretariat to scrutinize some of its members who may bring confusion in the party during the election period.
Mufulira district youth chairman Brian Mulilo said ‘‘traitors’’ should be dealt with immediately to avoid recurrence of confusion during election time.
He accused the senior PF officials of being responsible for the confusion and failure to act on suspects who appeared to be against party decisions.
Mr Mulilo said youths were concerned about some members fanning confusion in the party.
“As youths, our advice should be adhered to, that is why party officials had lifted all suspensions in the party so that we work together as one for the party to achieve success,” he said.
Mr Mulilo said youths were playing a major role in ensuring that the party was intact with all its structures.
He said the youths would not sit idly by and watch some individuals who wanted to frustrate efforts made for the good of the Zambian people.
Mr Mulilo said this was not the time for finger-pointing, but to work together as the ruling PF government had much to boast about, looking at the on-going development projects throughout the country.
“President Lungu said he wanted to work with the youths who are the engine of national development, and therefore their views should be heard,” he said.
Mr Mulilo said some |PF members were only interested in seeing the downfall of the PF, ‘‘forgetting that the people of Zambia had hope in the party’’.
He claimed that most members tasked with various roles to ensure the party remained intact were not doing much and that the issue should be addressed before it was too late.
