IN- FORM Striker Collins Mbesuma and Evans Kangwa each scored the winning goals for their sides as Mpumalanga Black Aces and Hapoel Ra’anana won their weekend assignments respectively.
Mbesuma’s only goal in the 43 minute helped South African giants Mpumalanga Black Aces edge Chippa United 1-0 in a match played at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday night.
Mbesuama scored with an easy tap from Vincent Kobola’s cross. This was Mbesuma’s 11th goal of the season.
After putting up an impressive performance, Mbesuma was substituted for attacker Judas Moseamedi.
After the signing of a six months deal, Mukuka Mulenga joins Mbesuma and hopeful the two Zambian players will make a deadly combination.
Meanwhile, Kangwa scored the solitary goal was enough for Isreali side Hapoel Ra’anana to grab three points against rivals Hapoel Petah.
Kangwa who has shown consistence this season at his club tops the scorers chart on eight goals.
Chipolopolo Soccer Fans Association (CSFA) patron Yotam Mwanza expressed happiness with the consistence exhibited by Kangwa and Mbesuma this season.
Mwanza said the continued impressive performance by the duo was a sign that the national team will do a good job in the World and African qualifiers.
“We are happy with the performance of the duo. I think for some time now, Zambians have cried for a sharp frontline. I believe we are getting there. Mbesuma has been brilliant in terms of getting goals. What is more important is that he has been able to replicate the good performance at national team level. Kangwa’s has tremenedously improved and I urge him to continue working hard,” he said.
