UPND FORMING GOVT IN AUGUST-HH

UPND president Hakainde Hichilema says his party will form government after August 11, general elections.

Speaking when he addressed over 200 aspiring candidates in Choma on Wednesday, at which the Daily Nation reporter was denied to access, Mr. Hichilema said that UPND was ready and committed to deliver its promises once it assumed office.

“You and I know the PF and President Lungu have failed to deliveron their campaign promises. I want to tell you that whether Mr Lungu wants it or not he is going after August 11 elections,

“In this country we don’t want to fight, all we want is fertilizer, jobs, developments, good hospital…but the PF have failed to deliver all those,” he said.

And Hakainde has advised aspiring candidates in Southern province that were not resourceful, loyal to the party and electable to drop out of the race and give way to those that meet the three requirements.

Meanwhile, three councillors at the Livingstone cCty council have ditched their respective political parties to join the opposition UPND.

Mr. Hichilema said he was aware that some of the aspiring candidates had no capacity to mobilize and also finance their campaigns if adopted.

Meanwhile, three councilors at the Livingstone city council have ditched their respective political parties to join the opposition UPND. The three are PF Maramba ward Moses Simbaya, MMD Mwalibonena ward councilors Mathews Jere and MMD Shungu ward councilor Frank Kalindima.

Speaking earlier, party vice president for Administration Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba told the people of Choma that Northern Province has endorsed Hakainde Hichilema for August 11, 2016 general elections.
